I am currently changing from contributions based jobseekers allowance to income based and have been told that all income into the family home is taken into account, however no outgoings whatsoever are taken into account. this is not a fair system as it is loaded against people who have a partner earning money. outgoings that are a legal obligation to pay at the mimimum should be also taken into account in the calculation that takes place to decide what income based jobseekers allowance you get.

things such as

rent/mortgage
council tax
car insurance
television license
road tax
amongst other outgoings should be taken into account.
I personally am about to lose half of my money because of the change from contributions based to income based job seekers allowance and the system needs to change.
