Use a different method or provider to verify the identity of citizens wanting to open Universal Credit Claim or any other type of claim for help in this time of crisis. Digidentity and Post Office services don't work. This is leaving people desperate as they can't get the help they need

It is a time of crisis and a lot of people are needing to start Universal credit claims to be able to support themselves. The process of verifying the identity is not working, huge queues, system that crashes and fails and has a limited time for accessing it. The government has previously used other means for verifying ID such as the app/system used for the settled status, which was faster and easier to use. The government should consider a similar way to be able to prove identity for claims.
