This petition was submitted during the 2019-2024 parliament
Rejected petition Include 0hr contractors in the 80% furlough that self-employed get for COVID-19.
The government must include the 0hr contractors/agency in the furlough scheme. Currently, they receive NO financial help other than the DWP. they cannot make ends meet or survive on DWP help i.e universal credit.
More details
0hr contractors/agency are currently laid off work due to the current restrictions imposed by the government for public health (COVID-19) with this lay off they are currently not getting paid and are being forced to claim benefits, most of which receive next to nothing for the month. to pay bills and buy food etc. If they were to be included in the furlough like EVERY other worker/self employed it would help them be secure until the crisis is over.
