Rejected petition A National Celebration Of Life Day For People Who Died Alone During COVID-19

Declare a National Celebration Of Life Day for those we lost during Covid-19 (Similar to the special holiday on 5 June, 2012 to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Elizabeth II)

Create opportunities to allow communities time to come together to commemorate the people and events of COVID-19

More details

When could the day take place? Once 'normal' life resumes

How could the celebrations take place? Street parties could be authorised and religious services could be broadcast nationwide honouring the deceased. The names of each person could be read out.

Honours Medal? We could issue a medal to mark the exceptional service and sacrifice of individuals during COVID-19. Anybody in the UK could make a recommendation for a British national to receive an honour.
