We believe the government should reconsider its proposed VAT levy on sports nutrition drinks.

In this Olympic year, the government has proposed to increase the cost of sports nutrition drinks.

In their own words these sports nutrition drinks are "products that enhance physical performance, accelerate recovery after exercise, or build bulk".

In this age of obesity we do not believe that the government should be dissuading sport, exercise and high performance by levying VAT on sports nutrition drinks and similar concentrates, essences, powders etc.
