Closed petition Make the Universal Declaration of Human Rights inviolable in UK law

The UK signed up to the UDHR along with many other nations following WW2. At this time many people are concerned their human rights are in danger of being taken away.
As a gesture of the government’s respect for our human rights it should make the UDHR legally binding and inviolable.

More details

The UDHR was created to protect people’s fundamental human rights internationally, although the British government signed up to them, it never made these rights inviolable in law, meaning the Government can legislate contrary to these rights.

Governments do not always know better. Governments can make mistakes, they are made up of people and humans can make errors. If the UK government truly believes in human rights and supports these rights it should make them inviolable.
