Closed Move the August Bank Holiday from 31st August to 14th August for VJ Day.

As the May Day Bank Holiday was moved to let the UK commemorate and celebrate the 75th anniversary of VE Day, so should the August Bank Holiday be moved to 14th August so VJ can be honoured likewise.

VE Day 75 saw an incredible coming together for the UK on 8 May 2020. This was enabled by moving the May Bank Holiday.
However, many continued to fight and die in the Far East until Japan surrendered on August 15.
Still more waited at home, desperate for news of their loved ones.
