Closed Fund canal towpaths improvmennts for a network of traffic free cycle routes.

Divert a small fraction of the road maintenance budget from roads to improving towpaths by making them tarmac and 2m wide.

As we have seen by the increase in cycling during the COVID19 lockdown, there is a need to improve cycling infrastructure because our roads are so dangerous for cyclists. Towpath cycling would provide an instant long-distance traffic free cycling network to compliment the existing Sustrans network for very little cost.
