While breastfeeding my son who is allergic to dairy & soya, I purchased some Breastfeeding vitamins. After 24 hours my son became poorly which resulted in me double checking the ingredients, one of which turned out to be soya.

Some derivatives do not need to be listed & are exempted by EFSA, but as this product is specifically for consumption of breastfeeding mothers, I feel it critical that such products be labelled comprehensively.

Allergic reactions of infants (diarrhoea or vomiting, shortness of breath, itchy throat, r soreness) can take weeks to pass. For some this can be enough to end a breastfeeding journey prematurely.

Requiring all ingredients and derivatives be listed would enable parents to avoid allergens.
