Rejected petition Do not extend congestion zone timing.
The existing congestion charge of £11.50 mon-fri 8am-6:30pm has now been increased to £15 min-sun 7am-10pm.
This will heavily affect Londoners and is especially unfair to those who live near the zone, need to travel through the zone to visit family or to travel for work especially during a PANDEMIC

We have been told by the Mayor of London to only use public transport as the last measure and at the same time forced to pay £15 as of Monday.
The price increase is one issue but it’s the extension of days and hours that will hit Londoners very hard.
Cyclists are used as a scapegoat but after spending millions on cyclist lanes that disrupted traffic, cycling has never been safer in London.

The Government has agreed a package consisting of a mixture of grants and loans based upon a series of conditions agreed by the mayor, including the reinstatement of the congestion charge: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/government-grants-transport-for-london-funding-package
You could start a petition calling on the Government to reimburse people, or particular groups of people, for the cost of the congestion charge, if that is what you want to happen. You could also start a petition calling on the Government to seek to revise the terms of its support for Transport for London, so that this is not conditional on the reinstatement of the congestion charge.
