Rejected petition Legalise the use of electric scooters on UK roads
Immediately legalise the use of electric scooters on UK roads. Legislation should include wording to ensure rider and public safety. Appropriate rules include a speed limit of 15mph and it should be compulsory to wear a helmet. Failure to abide by the rules should result in fines.
More details
In light of Coronavirus, we urgently need alternative and sustainable methods of transportation that will limit the spread of the disease and relieve pressures on public transport as people try and get back to normality. Furthermore, electric scooters are an ecologically friendly mode of transport and can contribute to reducing emissions and pollution in our cities.
