We’re waiting for a new Petitions Committee

Petitions had to stop because of the recent general election. Once a new Petitions Committee is set up by the House of Commons, petitions will start again.

Closed petition Allow electors to vote for a re-vote if they feel no candidate represents them

Electors should be entitled to vote for a re-vote at an election, to highlight to candidates that they should reconsider what constituents want from them and give them an alternative to voting for a candidate they do not feel represents them.

More details

Giving electors the option of voting for a re-vote should mean that parties think more about what their constituents want, rather than leaving constituents forced to choose between candidates they don’t have full confidence in. If a request for a re-vote receives more votes than any candidate the election should be re-run, giving parties and candidates an opportunity to reconsider what their constituents want.
