Investment funds which specialise in purchasing and renting property should be made illegal.

The average home in the UK costs £231,855. This represents approximately 10 years’ worth of earnings (after tax) for the average citizen. This in mortgage terms can equate to up to 30 years of work to own a home in this country. With wages expected to be stagnant over the coming years due to economic diversity globally, public/private listed funds owning properties to rent and provide shareholder income/capital growth is unsatisfactory.
