Closed Make bikes and bicycle accessories zero-rated for VAT

The Government should zero-rate VAT for pedal cycles and bicycle accessories such as bike helmets, locks and lights.

Pedal cycles, including bicycles, tricycles, tandems, etc should be zero- rated for VAT. This would reduce the cost for users, thereby encouraging their uptake and use, which should benefit the population by encouraging exercise, and the environment by reducing pollution. This should also enable social distancing and reduce reliance on public transport during the Covid-19 outbreak.
