We’re waiting for a new Petitions Committee

Petitions had to stop because of the recent general election. Once a new Petitions Committee is set up by the House of Commons, petitions will start again.

Closed petition Fund pension supplement for WW2 veterans to cover all living costs

The Government should provide “Cradle to Grave” care for WW2 veterans, by ensuring that Income Tax and National Insurance contributions paid into the system through a working life, come back in the form of a decent State pension on reaching retirement age.

More details

Poverty is rife among Britain's oldest citizens, including WW2 veterans, and many have to choose between eating or heating their homes due to ever increasing Utility bills, local Council taxes, and a low State pension.

The basic state pension is only around £7,000 a year. We demand this is increased substantially, with a supplement to cover all living costs, such as council tax, rent and utilities.

Without this Generation’s past efforts and sacrifices during WW2, none of us would be here today.
