Closed petition Require public sector vehicles be purchased or leased from UK manufacturers

I would Like the UK Government to pass a law to make it so that only UK base vehicles that are purchased or leased are from UK manufactured vehicles not vehicles manufactured from abroad. Thus keeping UK tax payers money working in the UK economies and creating more jobs or safe guarding jobs.

Currently emergency vehicles are predominantly Mercedes, BMW ect. As we are now leaving the EU and unshackling ourselves of certain rules and obligations, it is time that procurement of vehicles for frontline services should be made from vehicles produced here within the UK reinvesting in UK produced vehicles, yes most of our brands have gone or what is left is owned by investors and foreign holders but the monies spent back into our local economy can only be a good thing in the longer term.
