Rejected petition Change the 100 year Secrecy Order Blair imposed on high profile paedophies

Change the Secrecy Order on high profile paedophiles uncovered in the Operation Ore investigation of 2002 from 100 years to 5 years.

More details

Someone practicing paedophilia can not be considered as acting impartially in all areas. It is also in the public interest to know who these people are and to what extent their involvement may have influenced their decision making.

This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action. There is no such 'secrecy order', however most personal information relating to law enforcement is subject to a 100 year restriction on publication. You can find out more here:

https://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/documents/information-management/access-to-public-records.pdf

If you would like all police records to be made available sooner than 100 years, you could start a petition calling for that to happen.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
