Rejected petition Legalise General Ownership & Use Of Electric Scooters For Blue Badge Holders

Not all disabled people need wheelchairs as they have some mobility but not full. The use of hired electric scooters to reduce congestion should be extended to full use for these people on a daily basis

More details

The cost of approx £5 taxis for 1/4 mile journeys for mobility limited people is extortionate & limiting. Even corner shop to home in some circumstances. Widening the non restricted use for disabled people would give more & equal freedom,a better quality of life & ability, reduce pollution of short journeys, reduce congestion.
This is more essential to younger, standing disabilities peoples discouraged by wheelchair or mobility carriage stigma or discrimination

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Disabled people are not excluded from owning or using electric scooters, so we're not exactly sure what you'd like to change about the law.
