Under the current scheme updated in Aug 2019 an End of service in Armed Forces, returning to civilian life, widow(er) Only receives 50 points. Make veterans a priority. If veterans are willing to put their lives on the line for this country, the least we can do is home them when their service ends

Too many are living on the streets because they are not entitled to a council house on the current scheme. The Royal British Legion estimate that there are over 6000 homeless veterans In the U.K., yet The latest Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) homelessness data reveals that over the past year only 1,780 homeless veterans were identified by local authority housing services. That’s identified, not housed. Most of those would still have not received enough points.

MPs to debate Remembrance, UK Armed forces and society in the House of Commons

MPs will debate remembrance, UK armed forces and society this Wednesday 11 November in the main House of Commons Chamber. The subject of the debate has been determined by the Government.

This will be a general debate. General debates allow MPs to debate important issues, however they do not end in a vote nor can they change the law.

The debate will start sometime after 12.30pm, following PMQs and the ten-minute rule motion on supported housing.
