Closed Increase the income threshold for people repaying student loans under Plan 1

All students should have the same income threshold irrespective of when they started university. Students on Plan 1 should start repaying at same earning limits as students on Plan 2.

I feel students who started an undergraduate course before 1 September 2012 are being treated unfairly.

Students on Plan 1 did not choose when to graduate from further education and start university, but have to start repaying their loan if they earn more than £1615 before tax.

Any students on Plan 2, who started after 1 September 2012, only need to start repaying when they earn above £2214 before tax.

These earning limits should be equal.
