Offenders should get a minimum of 10 years in prison, an unlimited fine including vet fees and maintenance for the animal, go onto an animal offender list so they cannot get another animal again which be accessible to those who can legally sell pets.
Animal abuse happens far too often. Animals suffer at the hands of humans, who never truly face their consequences. Children and those impressionable are seeing the lenient sentences and think it’s funny and a joke to harm a living creature. Animals exist alongside humans so why don’t they deserve the same rights as humans.
