Closed petition Distribution of free laptops to pensioners

Proposal to distribute free laptops with wireless internet capability (and to grant government-funded Internet provision in the home) to pensioners who are unable to fully interact in the outside world. With access to the Internet, our older generation will be far more equipped to manage domestic affairs which would otherwise prove exceptionally difficult due to restricted mobility, and they will undoubtedly benefit enormously from the collective knowledge of the web and its manifold uses. Use of services we take for granted, like Internet shopping and banking, would prove hugely useful for our older citizens. They need a little help- let's give them the respect and thanks that they deserve...
