Closed petition Reintroduce the tripartite system into UK schools - maximise potential!
Closed on
The comprehensive system, in its vain attempt to make everyone equal, has made everyone AVERAGE.
The bright students aren't pushed hard enough, the average students aren't guided towards areas in which they are more able, and the less able students continue to struggle with academia, when their focus should be on key skills (numeracy, literacy) and subjects/qualifications that they can apply to their working life.
At present, there are small areas in the UK that have the 11+ and elite schools, but these are sadly for those who can "afford it".
The tripartite system works extremely well in Germany, with the equivalent of Grammar, Grammar Technical, and Secondary Modern schools.
Perhaps it will then everyone a chance to excel in what they do best and gain RELEVANT qualifications, rather than creating "non-degrees" in bricklaying and knitting because "everyone should have the chance to get a degree".
