Petition the government to give our redundant aircraft carrier(s) to the United Nations to be used only for humanitarian aid purposes - supplying food or other materials or rescuing refugees from natural disaster situations, for example. Helicopters could fly inland and the ship could carry many tonnes of aid cargo of every sort as well as carrying 1000's of people to safety.
