The department for education are proposing to move 220 jobs from the Runcorn Castle view house site, to Manchester. The current cost of castle view house is £148 per sqm; compared with £553 per sqm in Manchester.

Not only is there a business case to be made for this, but the move would have devastating effects on the 27th most deprived authority (Halton) in the country.

Halton needs these jobs, and the DfE would save money.

We urge the department for education to reconsider their proposal.
