Would like to have a national governmental requirement for safe regulatory practice for all counsellors and psychotherapists. In light of the present pandemic it is more evident than ever before that this is really needed.

With the law as it stands, anyone can call themselves a counsellor... With the training (as it stands) most qualified counsellors have either a four year diploma, degree or and masters. The damage that is done by unqualified lay people setting themselves up as counsellors can cause more damage than help. This can and has led to more serious mental health difficulties.
