Legislation to -

a) bring in a mandatory warning notice to buyers on all home sales literature advising that they should obtain independent expert advice on the value and condition of the property before committing to purchase,

b) ban the promotion and use of inter-firm referrals for surveys where the agent is part of the same business or group of businesses as the surveyor,

The aim is to eliminate the potential of price rigging by agents and surveyors acting in unison to hold an artificially high valuation to increase fee revenues whilst not destroying the duty of an agent to secure the best price for its client.
