Petition Raising the recent Falkland referendum at the United Nations
More details
We ask the UK govt to propose a motion at the UN on the following points.
1.The UK notes the UN Charter grants the right to self determination.
2.The populace of The Falkland islands in a referendum in 2013,have expressed their right to self determination provided by the UN Charter. This vote was monitored, and was found to be free and fair.
3.That the population of the islands are descended from settlers that predate the independence of Argentina. As such the Argentine claim to the islands is null.
4.That the British settlers, dispossessing no one, are themselves the natives.
5.That, after the referendum, considering the fact that the islands have chosen their current status, the relavent UN authorities should take steps to remove The Islands from the List of Non-self governing territories.
6.That, recognising of the referendum, the UN should view the territorial dispute over, in favour of Britain, but more importantly, the wishes of the islands population
