Rejected petition Discount rail card for armed forces veterans (<80% disabled)

Rejected on

Disabled persons rail card for veterans who are below eighty per cent disabled.

Injured armed forces veterans who are confirmed <80% disabled do not qualify for a disabled persons rail card (qualification is minimum 80% disablement).

Veterans are being prejudiced because they do not qualify for an armed forces rail card as they are no longer a member of the armed forces, however they could be 70% disabled and not qualify a disabled person’s rail card either.

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.

The disabled persons railcard is a concessionary card offered and administered by the train operators (ATOC).

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
