Petition Bring back Wycombe Hospital Accident and Emergency
More details
The population of High Wycombe is 92,300 but within the High Wycombe urban area it equals to 148,000.
Its hospital accident and emergency services was closed in 2006. And the major emergency service was stopped in October 2011.
The nearest hospital is in Slough Wexham and Aylesbury, Bucks. The entire road from High Wycombe to Stoke Mandeville is single carriageway. The road to Wexham Hospital is accessed by the M40 and the A404, this is hazardous to all users who is using these roads as the ambulance approaching on either road ,cars will break very hardly and this causes accident on the motorway and the A404.
Also, recently there have been reports of high A+E death rates and increase of waiting times in Stoke Mandeville as there are increased patient from High Wycombe. Wycombe Hospital with Accident and Emergency facility this decreases the pressure for Stoke Mandeville Hospital as nurses can treat patient properly.
