Petition Investigation into how UKBA processed £595 Application Fees, yet thousands of Backlogged Cases

I would like for there to be a full transparent investigation into how the UKBA used each applicants £595 application fee yet there are thousands upon thousands with no answer and majority without any idea of when their cases will be resolved.

If figures in the news are anything to go by, approximately 200,000+ cases are unresolved each have paid £595 , that is approx £119,000,000 in application fees yet no processing has been done and such a big backlog has been created. My question is why?
