Convicted criminals who have a personal wealth/savings of say, x amount, should be forced to pay in full or at least in part the cost of keeping them in prison. This could help reduce the burden on the tax payer and could kickstart the rehabilitation of the justice system by teaching criminals crime, actually, does not pay.
