Closed Senior Civil Service Severence Pay

We instruct the Permanent Secretary to the Cabinet Office and the Permanent Secretary to the Treasury to investigate the options available to place a cap on the total value of severence payments made to members of the Senior Civil Service with a view to imposing a limit on payments. When investigated and a legally sound position is established we instruct that the Government brings into being an Act to ensure that no Civil Servant leave employment from the Civil Service or an associated and empowered Public Sector Body with any payment with a total benefit package in excess of twice the Prime Ministers annual salary
