Closed petition Increase the apprenticeship minimum wage to match that of a normal employee.
Closed on
Apprentices currently have to get by on just £4.15 per hour. In many cases these apprentices often do the same, if not more, work than their colleagues in the same roles.
I believe the amount of people applying for apprenticeships in this country would increase dramatically, if the minimum wage was matched.
£4.15 is simply not enough in this day and age. With the prices of things such as train and bus tickets increasing, it’s becoming harder and harder to live.
