Petition Extend support bubbles to include those living on their own with dependents.
My elderly parents live on their own. My father has dementia alongside bipolar disorder and relies completely on my mother. She is unable to leave him, and he follows her around the home - even to the extent of waiting outside the bathroom door when she uses the toilet. They need a support bubble.
More details
It seems to me that my mother’s position is even worse than someone who lives on their own - who is able to do things independently without the strain of caring full time without relief for someone else - yet without the support that a single person is able to have of forming a support bubble.
For many in this situation - extending a support bubble will lead to an immensely improved quality of life and save the NHS valuable resoures having to pick up the pieces when carers can no longer cope.

MPs will debate the effect of the covid-19 outbreak on people affected by dementia this Thursday 12 November in Westminster Hall. The subject of the debate has been determined by the Backbench Business Committee.
This will be a general debate. General debates allow MPs to debate important issues, however they do not end in a vote nor can they change the law.
