Closed petition Include non-payment of Maintenance to CMS or financial support as economic abuse

Any non-resident parent, who cares about their Child/Children should and would want to provide Maintenance through the CMS or direct to the Resident Parent or Child (Dependant upon their age). Failure to actively attempt to provide this should be treated as economic abuse.

We want the Government to do more to ensure that any non-resident Parents are not allowed to drop in and out of work, claim benefits, give incorrect Self Assessment figures or just do not bother to make any Financial Support towards their Child/ren(s) upbringing, be held to account for this and be dealt with as Financial Abusers and be punished under the same umbrella as any other form of Financial Abuse which can and would come under Domestic Abuse in certain circumstances.
