Closed Introduce weekly Covid-19 testing for school staff and students in England

The Government should introduce saliva testing for Covid-19 in all schools in England to test pupils and staff weekly regardless of whether they show symptoms.

Children are susceptible to catching COVID-19 but often are asymptomatic or show few symptoms. They are able to effectively spread the virus to each other and more vulnerable children or adults without knowing. Simply removing children once they show symptoms will not be enough to limit spread and save lives.

Weekly testing could help reduce the spread of the virus and make our schools and society safer places. Protect our children’s education and reduce the spread of the virus in society.
