Closed petition Ban schools from posting photos and information of minors on public social media

Closed on

No personal or identifiable information relating to any specific pupil should be available publicly online, to help further protect children’s identity.

The law should be changed to prohibit schools from publishing identifiable photos, personal information or specific schedules of primary school pupils publicly online or on public social media, even if parents give their consent. Any images or information that needs to be shared with parents and guardians should be done through a secure portal with login credentials, not an open access website.
Any promotional imagery used for school websites should aim to protect the identity of the children used.
