Rejected petition Stop the banning of walk-ins to A&E's.
Stop the banning of walk-ins to A&E's.
More details
Government proposes to remove the facility to ‘walk-in’ to A&E departments across the country. Around 65% of those who attend A&E are walk-ins, so this would be a major reduction in a well used NHS service and will lead to unnecessary deaths.
Other than arriving by ambulance, patients would have to book an appointment.
There had been no public consultation on this, despite this being a legal requirement for major changes to a NHS services.
The Government should reverse the decision to stop walk-ins to A&E's.

Why was this petition rejected?
It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. The Government has announced that appointments will be necessary for non-emergency cases, so walk-ins are not banned from A&E in cases of emergency, and people will not be turned away in these cases. You can read more here:

You could start a new petition asking the Government not to requite any appointments at A&E, if that's what you'd like to see happen.
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
