Closed Stop assets being considered in financial assessments for social care

People who have worked all their lives and contributed to society should not be penalised if they have to go into care by being required to use their savings and sell their homes to pay for this.

My Mother is awaiting going into a Home, and has been told the state will only cover the costs of her care once she has sold her home and has savings of under £23000.

Care Homes charge anything from £850 plus a week so this money will not last long. Everything my Father and Mother worked for all their lives will be used to pay for her care.
