On the principle that the ‘Polluter Pays’ introduce a product redundancy tax based on how repairable a product is and how much of the packaging is recyclable.
To encourage industry to think about the environmental effects of their products and packaging and to discourage development of designed in obsolescence. For example, if a product is disposable then add a 100% Tax to the cost price. If 50% then 50% tax and so on. All tax raised to be used to subsidise Local authority costs of collection and disposal of waste.
