Closed petition Urge Azerbaijan and Turkey to end military action in Nagorno-Karabakh

We urgently need the UK government to demand that Turkey and Azerbaijan end military action in Nagorno-Karabakh, which has led to the death of over 700 Armenians.

More details

The autonomous region of Nagorno-Karabakh was arbitrarily allocated to Azerbaijani SSR by Stalin in the early 20th century, despite the vast majority of the population being ethnic Armenians. Before the Soviet Union collapsed, Nagorno-Karabakh declared independence in accordance with the USSR law. In response, the newly formed Republic of Azerbaijan launched a full-scale war against the region.

The current conflict is especially dire because Turkey is supporting military action by Azerbaijan. There are reports of Syrian fighters being hired by Turkey to fight on the side of Azerbaijan.
