Closed petition Treat electric motorcycles as electric vehicles for BIK (Benefit In Kind)

Closed on

Treat electric motorcycles as electric vehicles when calculating benefit in kind.

As well as emitting zero greenhouse and noxious gases, electric motorcycles also reduce congestion in UK cities more than electric cars. Despite this the UK government is not encouraging their use as company vehicles by treating them as electric vehicles for benefit in kind taxes. The current benefit in kind for an electric car is 0%, rising to 1% next year and then 2% for the subsequent two years. Electric motorcycles attract full benefit in kind at 20%. Why?

By signing this petition you are asking the government to treat electric motorcycles as electric vehicles that saving an enormous amount of money for electric motorcycle users and and encouraging cleaner and more congestion friendly vehicles in our city centres and uk-wide.
