Closed Make false reports of Covid-19 breaches a specific criminal offence

It is too easy for people to report Clubs, Pubs & Sporting Venues for not abiding to Covid-19 rules set out by their local authority & Government. If the allegations are incorrect this can waste local authority and police time and money. This should be made a specific criminal offence.

Random checks by local authorities by all means should be carried out, but it is too easy for people to make false reports of premises for not following the rules. Deter people from making false allegations by making this a criminal offence with sanctions for offenders.
