Closed petition Condemn the government of India on Rape and Sexual Violence against women
Closed on
The UK government must condemn the failure of the Indian government and institutions to prevent rape and sexual violence against women.
The Declaration on the Elimination of Violence against Women states under Article 1 that the term violence against women means any act of gender-based violence that results in, or is likely to result in, physical, sexual or psychological harm or suffering to women.
We believe the Indian government is failing to meet its obligations under this declaration, and the UK Government should acknowledge the injustice faced by victims of rape and sexual violence by condemning the Indian government.
