Petition Increase funding for Special Education Needs schools
Discuss realistic funding to enable Special Education Needs Schools to remain open and not have to close due to lack of funding and unable to pay teaching staff.
More details
My son attends Oak View Special Needs schools in Loughton, Epping. His school like many other schools and special needs schools is suffering due to significant cuts in education year after year, the current staffing provision of the school is unfortunately financially unsustainable: without bold measures, the school could slip into a deficit of nearly £400,000 this year and considerably more over the next two to three years. Due to this the school is being forced to close on Fridays from 1pm.

What are Westminster Hall debates?
Westminster Hall is the second Chamber of the House of Commons.
Westminster Hall debates give MPs an opportunity to raise local or national issues and receive a response from a government minister. Any MP can take part in a Westminster Hall debate.
Debates in Westminster Hall take place on ‘general debate' motions expressed in neutral terms. These motions are worded ‘That this House has considered [a specific matter]'.
