Closed petition Allow victims of domestic abuse to claim housing benefit in arrears

I want the government to allow women who find themselves at the risk of being unable to fill out their housing benefit form to be able to claim discretionary housing benefit for arrears accumulated whilst in a state of injury or coercion.

I have lost my housing and been placed in temporary housing but been told that I have intentionally made myself homeless although I went to the housing and told them what was happening. I just don't want any other woman to suffer whilst she is so vulnerable. It takes guts to report them and even more to carry it through without being punished for making a stand!
