Closed Extend financial support for workers made redundant due to Covid

The Government should create a support package for the people recently made redundant because of Covid. This should be a monthly payment similar to the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme but paid direct to the person to tide them over until more work can be found.

This scheme should operate until at least April 2021. The payment could replace UC or JSA on a temp basis for those who have lost their job due to Covid, and would end as soon as they find work.

Support our workforce in their time of need and who are only out of work due to Covid.
