Closed Establish a guarantor scheme for people seeking private tenancies

The Government should set up a scheme to act as a guarantor to new renters who have no guarantors for whatever reason. This will help people who can afford to rent privately but cannot get a guarantor to get a home so that they do not become homeless.

At this time of the coronavirus an increasing number of people are being rejected as tenants because they lack a suitable guarantor for the rent despite having the financial means to pay the rent. This adds to the homelessness crisis, particularly among young people.
