Closed petition Let airlines allow pets under 10kg in the airplane’s cabin to and from the UK.
Pets are a part of the family, especially for people who live alone. Pets provide a lot of health benefits including decreasing stress and anxiety, help manage loneliness and depression by giving us companionship. They can increase opportunities to exercise, get outside, and socialize.
Loneliness has become a leading concern for middle aged single adults. They can experience depression through both the social isolation associated with being single and living alone and, more significantly, the emotional isolation associated with the strict rules of lockdown during the Covid 19 pandemic.
It is more important than ever to allow people to travel with their pets. Travel rules are changing unpredictably, therefore they want to have their pets with them at all times.

MPs to debate pet travel on Thursday 2 December
MPs will hold a debate on pet travel on Thursday 2 December in Westminster Hall. The debate will be led by Sheryll Murray MP.
The debate will start at 3pm and last for up to an hour and a half.
You'll be able to read a transcript of the debate a few hours after it happens: https://hansard.parliament.uk/commons/2021-12-02
This will be a general debate. General debates allow MPs to debate important issues, however they do not end in a vote nor can they change the law.
